KSU VPN Server to replace KSU Proxy Server as of June 30, 2008
The KSU Proxy server is being replaced by the KSU VPN server. Both methods of accessing campus restricted resources are available through June 30, 2008. After that time, only the KSU VPN will be available for off campus access to campus restricted resources.
The KSU VPN can be downloaded from http://www.kent.edu/is/Network/VPN.cfm
How to setup the KSU Proxy
If you have a valid Kent account and you subscribe to an internet service
(such as AOL or RoadRunner), you can access the restricted resources
that are located on KentLink/OhioLink Research Databases by changing
a few settings in your Internet browser. By doing this you will be able
to use the University’s "Web proxy server." It is the proxy server that
validates you as a legitimate University user and allows you to connect
to any restricted resource. The directions for setting up the proxy
server may be found at http://www.library.kent.edu/internet/proxy.html
Please contact the Helpdesk for any assistance you may need with setting up or accessing sites through the proxy.
