What to do if you receivce this message: "Course
is not within the grading period"
Make sure that you have selected the correct course from the Course Title
dropdown box and then clicked the Select New Course button to the left
of the box. At this point, if you are still receiving the error message,
you should verify the officially scheduled end date of your course to
determine your WFFA grading availability. Below is the explanation of
WFFA's grading availability by term:
For Fall/Spring terms:
If a course is scheduled to run the Normal Academic Term (A Regularly
Scheduled Class, the faculty of record will be able to input grades in
WFFA starting on the last Friday of the course's term (the Friday right
before Finals Week). Grading will be available through the Tuesday following
Finals Week.
If a course is a Flexibly Scheduled course (Any course that does
not retain the exact dates of the current term), the faculty of record
will be able to input grades in WFFA starting the last day of that class.
Grading will be available through the Tuesday following that term's Finals
Week. Note: This ability allows faculty the flexibility to grade each
course upon the official completion date as recorded in the Schedule of
Classes, and not have to wait until the end of the semester before submitting
grades.
If a course is a Special Session (S) course that runs past the
end of the Normal Academic Term, grading will be available for the faculty
of record starting the last official day of the course. WFFA grading will
remain available for 14 days following the course's officially published
end date.
For all Summer Terms:
All course grading in WFFA will be determined by the individual course's
scheduled dates as compared to the session code (I, 1, 2, 3, W or S) that
is placed on the course. If a Summer course has the exact same dates of
the session that it was designated, grading will begin on the last Thursday
of that Summer session and continue through the very next Tuesday.
If the course does not retain the exact dates of the Summer session for
which it is designated, the course will be considered a Flexibly Scheduled
course. For these courses, grading will begin on the last scheduled day
of the course. Grading will continue through the Tuesday immediately following
the end of the session for which the course was designated. (I, 1, 2,
3, W or S).
If you have a flexibly scheduled course section and/or need to determine
your course's grading period, please view the Processing Dates for Classes
Table. ***
